Answer #1

Self-selection is the process of including self in a part of the group. In other word, we can say that self-selection gives an opportunity to an individual to be part of any research which includes other people too. Simply, we can say giving preference to yourself to making a part of any group or research group is called self-selection. Researchers should be concerned with self-selection because it is a major problem in research in, economics, psychology, sociology and many other social sciences. In these fields, a poll suffering from such biased is called 'self-selected listener opinion poll'. Self-selection is a risk for social science because very often result is affected by an individual. In most instances, self-selection will lead to biased data, as the respondents who choose to participate will not well represent the entire target population.
