Part-Time employees are hired to fulfill to achieve certain strategic goals of the University. When policies are formulated for a particular type of role the following points need to considered.

1. Policy Statement: In this case the policy statement which includes the expectations from the security personnel should be included. For example the policy statement could be "that the security personnel are expected to ensure that the University is safe and proper checks and balances are maintained.

2. Policy Purpose: In this case the purpose of the policy should be spelled out. For example in the case of employment of part-time staff as  security personnel the policy purpose could be "the policy has been developed to maintain the safety of the university during the time period 7pm to 1:00am when the students are likely to engage in recreational activities like having a dorm party etc. Hence, the requirement of safety is high.

3. Application of Policy: In this case the application of the policy should be spelled out. Which should include what the security personnel is expected to do. For example:

a. The part time security will be employed by the university for a specified period of time.

b. the job description and expectations from the employee must be listed out.

c Penalty clauses should also be listed.
