Describe at least two influence tactics from the text and our class discussion that are likely to be effective? Explain the tactics and how they would be effective.
Following are the influence tactics that will work to influence minimum wage workers to enhance production:
1. Exchange:
Under this influence tactics, the leader tries to influence the behavior of the follower by offering something in return. In other words, the followers are influenced to work in the desired manner by offering them something they will be agreed to work for. It is almost like motivation, in this tactic, we are giving them incentives to work according to the requirements.
The minimum wage workers can be influenced by this tactic. They can be promised to get and increase in their wages, as they are already getting the minimum wages. As a result, they will definitely agree to work faster to enhance production without any resistance.
2. Inspirational appeals:
Under this, the leader tried to influence his followers by inspiring them through many elements, like requesting them in a manner which supports their values and interest. In other words, this influence tactic involves influencing them by striking their emotions. It will help to gain confidence among them and they will work in the manner desired by the leader. It is an emotional approach.
Workers will be influenced by this tactic because, they have their morals, values, and ideals. By requesting them and appealing them according to the values they appreciate, inspiring them to work hard, gaining their confidence, there are fat chances that this will energize them, and they will work faster.
