Most small businesses operate as sole proprietorships or partnerships, giving complete control over a business to a single owner or a group of owners. Sole proprietorship owners and corporations are paying income taxes on their personal income tax returns for business profit. They also bear legal liability for corporate debts.Financing explains how a company raises money to fund new projects and operations. Usually, new small businesses receive funding from owners ' personal savings, banks ' small business loans, or friends and family members ' gifts or loans.
