Your organization has not had any disabled applicants apply for a job. However, you are concerned that you must be ready for the likelihood that it will happen at some time in the future. What do you need to diagnose in your current selection program to be sure you are in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act?
Indeed, there is need to ensure that the selection program is in compliance with the American with Disabilities Act. One way to diagnose the current selection program is to check whether it gives persons with disabilities an opportunity to apply for new openings. Does the selection program state that a certain percentage of new hires should be persons with disabilities? Together with a review of the Americans with Disabilities Act provisions, answers to these two critical questions will indicate the preparedness of the organization to hire persons with disabilities and thus, conformity with the provisions of the Americans with disabilities Act.
