In some countries, bribery is common and widely accepted. What is wrong with bribery? Why should it be illegal for American companies to pay bribes in countries where everyone else is?
Yes, it is true that in some countries the bribery is common and accepted. This is because the implication of law is not proper and system is fragile. The system o tackle the bribery is absent that is why the bribery is common in some countries.
Bribery is wrong because the undeserving person gets the advantage. For an example a criminal can bribe the police officers and can come out of the entire allegation from him. By this way the justice will not be there in the society. Likewise an undeserving student can take the seats in the exams and the deserving candidates cannot get placement in the colleges, the financially polished people can rule over the people. There can be a social misbalance in the society because of the bribe.
Bribe is morally wrong. The American companies operating in other companies should not bribe in the host country because later on the company ay be charged of indulging into malpractices and may lose the license to do business.
Further bribery is against the ethical principles of the company. There are various ways to get the work done than the bribery. If company is bribing then it is spending the customer’s money in bribing. It is unethical practice.
Further if the America Company is bribing then the social, economical, political and other reforms into hat host country will be affected. Furthermore the officials will get habitual of the bribery if American company bribes. Next time for every execution bribery has to be paid. And one incident is enough to ruin the brand image.
