Ethernet Technology and Internetworking Operating System
In this assignment, you will study the advances in Ethernet technology, and learn about the role of routers in a network.
Using the South University Online Library or the Internet, research the following:
Based on your research and understanding, answer the following discussion questions:
Question 1
Ethernet has proven to be a viable networking technology. It will continue to be a key player in networking in years to come.
Question 2
Routers are computing devices which need their own operating system (OS) to function. Some vendors refer to this OS as the iOS.
Why are some routers more expensive than others?
ANSWER:
Why is it so?
An Ethernet is the computer network situation where
multiple computers are connected to each other and will share the
same IP addresses. An Ethernet network has multiple computers on
the same server and multiple networks need not be created for this.
There are many components of the Ethernet such as:
Ethernet Cable
Ethernet Hub
Crossover Cable
Router
The low cost of the Ethernet low cost made it the competing
technology of the time. Thus Ethernet is a very simple and easy to
use technology and is a standard across many networking devices
used today.
What are the latest advances in Ethernet?
Ethernet started with original 10 Mbps throughput which was matched
to the servers and the workstations of the time. After 1990, it
Ethernet networking performance increased as well, and 100 Mbps
Ethernet introduced. The current version of the Ethernet standard
specifies operations up to 100 Gbps.
What is meant by an Ethernet switch?
An ethernet switch is a device which is used to connect multiple
PCs and servers, machines and other Ethernet enables IP devices to
the Local Area Network. The switch uses the MAC address table for
tracking the PCs and servers and other connected devices as to
where they are located.
How does Ethernet also play a role in wireless
technologies?
The standard for the wireless networking within the home or the
office is Wi-Fi or 802.11 network and wireless Ethernet is the
wireless counterpart to regular, wired Ethernet and thus is the
standard for the local wireless networks.
My dear student you posted multiple questions as per HomeworkLib rules I have solved the first one question . Thank you.

An IoT application is a set of wireless devices that act together to perform some sensing and control function. Most applications also provide a user interface, such as a mobile app or cloud-based service. In general, each application is deployed independently of any other applications that may be operating in the area and forms its own separate, cryptographically isolated network....
