The hypergeometric distribution is used to calculate probabilities when sampling without replacement.

The  probability mass function of hypergeometric distribution is given by:

where

K is the number of "successes" in the population
x is the number of "successes" in the sample
N is the size of the population
n is the number sampled

In this context,

K = number of customer reply to the survey out of a population of 500= 25% of 500 = 125
x = number of customer reply in the sample of 20
N is the size of the population = 500
n is the number sampled = 20
