Hello everyone! I am working on my assignment for C++ and I'm having a bit of trouble on the value producing functions, I am creating a program wherein I have to input a value and I need to create a function called square value where in it will square the value I have input. I cannot seem to figure out this part. Here is the code that I have so far, and thank you for any help. I greatly appreciate it!
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int getValue(); //Prototype Function
int main()
{
int num
num = getValue();
cout << "The value entered is " << num
<< endl;
return 0;
}
int getValue()
{
int val;
cout << "Enter a number: " << endl;
cin >> val;
return val; // Function specifies that it will be
returning
}
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int getValue(); //Prototype Function
int main()
{
int num
num = getValue();
cout << "The value entered is " << num << endl;
return 0;
}
int getValue()
{
int val;
cout << "Enter a number: " << endl;
cin >> val;
return val*val; // Function specifies that it will be returning
}
Hello everyone! I am working on my assignment for C++ and I'm having a bit of...
I'm kind of new to programming, and I am having trouble figuring out why my program isn't running. Below is the code that I wrote for practice. I will comment where it says the error is. So the error that I'm getting is "error: no match for 'operator>>' (operand types are 'std::istream {aka std::basic_istream<char>}' ". I'm not sure why I'm getting this because I added the library <iostream> at the top. Thank you. Code: #include <iostream> using namespace std; class...
Hello, I am working on a C++ pick 5 lottery game that gives you the option to play over and over. I have everything working right except that every time the game runs it generates the same winning numbers. I know this is an srand or rand problem, (at least I think it is), but I can't figure out what my mistake is. I've tried moving srand out of the loop, but I'm still getting the same random numbers every...
I am having trouble figuring out why my program will not make any columns, just rows. I need to display a square. The instructions are provided below. (This for my C++ class) Write a program that displays a square. Ask the user for the square’s size. Only accept positive integer numbers (meaning choose a data type that holds positive integer values). The size the user gives you will determine the length and width of the square. The program should then...
Hi everyone! I need help on my Java assignment. I need to create a method that is called sumIt that will sum two values and will return the value.It should also invoke cubeIt from the sum of the two values. I need to change the currecnt program that I have to make it input two values from the console. The method has to be called sumIt and will return to the sum that will produce the cube of the sum...
Am I using the right cin statement to take in values for my array? If I print them out it prints "0x61fea0" with the input 1 2 3 4 5 ///////////////////////////////// #include <iostream> using namespace std; const int ARRAY_LENGTH = 5; int main(){ int numbers[ARRAY_LENGTH]; int threshold; //@todo prompt user to enter array values cout << "Please input 5 numbers: " << endl; for(int i = 0; i < ARRAY_LENGTH; i++){ //@todo add cin statement to read in values for...
Hello i am having a bit of trouble with a verified exit for my program. For some reason when trying to exit it loops to the team selection function? C++ Visual Studio 2017 #include "cPlayer.h" char chChoice1 = ' '; char chChoice3 = ' '; cPlayer::cPlayer() { } cPlayer::~cPlayer() { } void cPlayer::fMenu() { char chChoice3 = ' '; do { cout << "\n\t--Menu--" << endl; cout << "1) Enter Player Name" <<...
Hello, I am working on my final and I am stuck right near the end of the the program. I am making a Tic-Tac-Toe game and I can't seem to figure out how to make the program ask if you would like to play again, and keep the same names for the players that just played, keep track of the player that wins, and display the number of wins said player has, after accepting to keep playing. I am wanting...
I am having trouble with my C++ program.... Directions: In this lab assignment, you are to write a class IntegerSet that represents a set of integers (by definition, a set contains no duplicates). This ADT must be implemented as a singly linked list of integers (with no tail reference and no dummy head node), but it need not be sorted. The IntegerSet class should have two data fields: the cardinality (size) of the set, and the head reference to the...
I'm trying to write in C++ a way to have the user input an double one at a time and have the program output (on entering 0) the number of times those variables differ by at least 1. For example if I enter 1, 1.7, 0.8, -0.1, -1, 0 ... I should get back 4. (or if I just input 0, the output should just be 0). I'm having trouble understanding how to use a while/for operation to make this...
My C++ code won't loop like it should. What am I doing wrong? #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main() { int n; int flag= 1; cout << "Prime/Not Prime" << endl; cout << "Enter the Number to check Prime:" << endl; cin >> n; int m = n / 2; int i; for (i = 2; i <= m; i++) if (n % i == 0) ...
