Biological factors include inherited personality traits and genetic conditions. People can approach HIV and AIDS depending upon their temperamental traits. Some people would be more willing to approach the topic and situations involving HIV and AIDS and some might withdraw from them. Some people might show a higher level of intensity while others might show a lower level of sensitivity.

Psychological factors involve lifestyle, personality characteristics, and stress levels. These can affects one’s consideration based on the mindset of a person. A person can be conservative regarding these issues and the other person could be more accepting of others with HIV and AIDS. A person might look at these as just a situation or total hopelessness depending upon his outlook.

Social factors include social support systems, family relationships, and cultural beliefs. In some cultures HIV and AIDS are taboo and not discussed openly. A person’s social support system is also going to shape his views on these topics. If there are good social support systems then the person would be more open to discuss and get involved with others with HIV and AIDS.
