Workshop # 1 for DL - on Introduction to Quality Name __________________
Consider and answer the following:
|
List |
Perspective |
How that list can be applied |
|
Quality means It brings conformance to requirements |
Here, perspective could be like (P)roduct, (C)ustomer, as Requirements are related to products and service, Requirements can also be defined by customers, |
Such requirements are required to be identified before manufacturing that products, and these requirements are to be identified earlier, so all stakeholders should be aware on such requirements and they can fulfill accordingly by staying on the same page, |
|
Quality makes products and services free from defects |
(P)roduct, (T)ranscendental, (V)alue, as products get served defect free and perception level can be increased, value of the product can be more and It gets more durable, |
Process improvements can be considered as critical steps, further, effective communication practices and employee engagement can also contribute towards making the products and services free from defects |
|
Improve customer satisfaction |
(C)ustomer, (V)alue, here, customer gets served with improved quality level of products and value of products and processes get improved, |
This require effective marketing and improving the service level that can bring higher customer satisfaction, |
|
Fitness for purpose |
(C)ustomer, (V)alue, (M)anufacturing, the manufacturing should be in a way that will fulfill the purpose, as we need the product to fulfill the purpose, hence, value can be generated and customer gets served positively |
This requirement improvement of service level and Internal process needs to be improved that can increase competing value of the products in the market. |
Quality is not influenced by any specific individual or departments, people may think that quality department is ultimately responsible for quality, this is traditional concept, however, quality should be responsibility for all like employees, sponsors, customers, executives, etc, all should involve to fulfill the initiatives related to quality campaign, as customers can define the requirements, further, meeting that requirements will serve the purpose of quality, process owner and associates need to care for their process to make the product defect free, again, sponsor should allocate sufficient budget and fund that can fulfill this initiative,
The workshop could be better from distance learning perspective, as the workshop could include various practical classes, simulations, real life examples, assignments and Internship, direct Interaction with the experts, professors, hence, workshop would be always better choice in that context.
