Answer #1

Let us take time = 1 hr = 60 min

Given : rate of nitroprusside solution = 23 mL/hr

volume of nitroprusside solution received = (rate of nitroprusside solution) * (time)

volume of nitroprusside solution received = (23 mL/hr) * (1 hr)

volume of nitroprusside solution received = 23 mL

mass of nitroprusside received = (volume of nitroprusside solution received) * (concentration of nitroprusside)

mass of nitroprusside received = (23 mL) * (50 mg / 250 mL)

mass of nitroprusside received = 4.6 mg

mass of nitroprusside received = 4.6 mg * (1000 ug / 1 mg)

mass of nitroprusside received = 4600 ug

dosage receiving = (mass of nitroprusside received) / [(mass of patient) * (time)]

dosage receiving = (4600 ug) / [(75 kg) * (60 min)]

dosage receiving = 1.02 ug/kg/min
