1. A square ceramic tile is 3.0 inches on a side, and 8.0 mm thick. What is its volume, in cubic centimeters?
2. A telephone pole is 35 ft long and 9.0 inches in diameter. What is its volume in cubic feet?
3. The iron pillar of Delhi is 23 feet 8 inches tall and 16 inches in diameter. What is its mass, in metric tons? (assume that it’s a perfect cylinder.)
4. A hula hoop 42 inches in diameter is made out of round tubing that is 20. mm (2 sig figs) in diameter. What is the volume of the hula hoop in cubic centimeters? Note that a hula hoop is a torus. The formula you need is: V=2π2r2R where r= the radius of the tubing and R is the radius of the hoop.

5. A doughnut is 34 mm thick (2r), and the distance from the center of the hole to the center of the dough is 1.1 inches (R). What is the volume of the doughnut in cubic inches? Assume the doughnut is a regular torus, so you can use the same formula as for the hula hoop: V=2π2r2R

(Note that if the doughnut is 34 mm thick, then r=34 mm/2 = 17 mm.)

question #1 pls assume stick is vertically inserted Consider a horizontally-positioned right circular cylindrical oil tank of radius r and length h as in the figure. The tanks are used for storage in various locations and are drained and filled periodically. Inventory is taken by placing a long dipstick with quarter-inch marks vertically in the tank, and then measuring the liquid level w. 1 1). If all variables r, h, and w are in inches, use calculus to find a...

1-1 Suppose you want to make a scale model of a hydrogen atom. You choose, for the nucleus, a small ball bearing with a radius of 1.5 mm. The radius of the hydrogen atom is 0.529 × 10−10 m and the radius of the nucleus is 1.2 × 10−15 m. (a) What would be the radius of the model? (b) Suppose that now you want to make a scale model of the solar system using the same ball bearing as...

What are the instruments that have been utilized for the review article discussions? ` 1. Introduction In recent years, nanoclays have been the object of particular interest for many scientists and researchers in chemistry, physics, engineering and biology due to their excellent properties as well as their sustain- ability [1-3]. For instance, they represent the starting point to the de velopment of smart materials for drug delivery (4-9), food packaging [10-12), environmental remediation and wastewater treatment [13], cultural heritage [14–17and...
