Answer #1

The 3 stages of the employment interview and the candidate’s and hiring manager’s perspective in each stage are as follows:

  • The Invitation Stage
    • Candidate perspective: The candidate wants his profile to get selected for the recruitment process. The candidate will draft his resume in the best way possible so as to attract the hiring manager’s attention and have content which will satisfy the job requirements.
    • Hiring manager perspective: Recruitment and selection process can be considered to be quite costly and time consuming process. Hence the hiring manager needs to address each stage quite effectively, to keep the costs and time involved minimal. In the invitation stage, the hiring manager is required to source the best applicants for the interview process. The best applicants will be those who have the required skills and expertise for the job in hand.
  • The Meeting/Actual interview Stage
    • Candidate perspective: Candidate will try to put his best foot forward in the interview process, so as to get selected for the job.
    • Hiring manager perspective: In this stage, the hiring manager is working with the objective of evaluating all the available candidates and choose the best candidate, who will be a right fit for the job as well as the culture and value system of the company.
  • The Follow up Stage
    • Candidate perspective: In this stage, the candidate desires to get feedback from the hiring manager about his performance and also waits to get the final verdict about his selection or rejection, as soon as possible.
    • Hiring manager perspective: The hiring manager will try to wrap the recruitment and selection process for the job as soon as possible. For this, he will require the selected candidate to affirm for the job as well as the compensation structure associated with it.
