You are interested in the effects of witnessing sexual victimization in prison on trauma symptoms. You asked prisoners if they have ever witnessed another prisoner be sexually assaulted (measured no/yes). You also administer the Trauma Symptoms Checklist (TSC) scale, which has a maximum score of 90 (higher scores equal more trauma symptoms experienced). You hypothesize that prisoners who did not witness sexual victimization will have lower TSC score than prisoners who did witness sexual victimization. Below are the data that tests this hypothesis.
