Dear Ms. Veres,

Nothing is as exciting as getting ready for game day.

The players warming up, the buzz of the crowd as they enter the park, even the smell of the stadium, all make for an electrically charged atmosphere. I've seen it first hand, and I love it.

I've been around professional sports since I was a child. My father worked as a Major League Baseball scout for more than 35 years. Even more importantly, I had the pleasure of spending this past summer as an intern for the Joliet JackHammers minor league baseball team.

It was an amazing experience. I interned in the Public/Media Relations department and had a chance to try my hand at an incredible variety of projects. I worked with ESPN as they covered the play of Pete Rose Jr. and a Cubs/Sox Legends game. I handled all our player appearances. I even set up and ran our first baseball camp. I usually put in 80 hours a week and couldn't get enough!

The JackHammer experience, in addition to work for the Chicago Bears and my Sports Management major, all have me extremely interested in pursuing a career in Sports Marketing upon graduation.

I would love to talk with you more about my passion, my background, and your organization. I look forward to touching base with you soon.

Regards,

Lacey Lou
