One of the recent policy which impact the trade relation of US is the withdrawal of the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The policy change impacted the renegotiation of the trade agreements with the neighbouring countries like Mexico and Canada (NAFTA) and ( South Korea (KORUS)).According to the U.S. International Trade Commission recent report , the TPP will have certain positive effects on the entire U.S. economy as with this unskilled labor reaping approx 25% of the gains, and the skilled workers 41% and business owners nearly 34%. This will help in more in house production and provide scope of utilizing the resources more. At the same time the lack of proper trade relationship has negative impact in the area of % of exporting and increase in duties and other surcharge.
