Hikaru wants to test a new method for nitrite analysis in well water. Before using it he checks the method by using it to measure nitrite in a standard reference solution of sodium nitrite. The reference solution is 55.55 micromolar sodium nitrite. Seven replicate nitrite determinations of the solution return the following (in micromolar): 68.32, 57.83, 54.62, 52.98, 51.26, 57.00, 52.36.

Using a = 0.05 and a t-test, is there any evidence that the analysis is giving inaccurate results? Show your work. If the results are inaccurate you must express the bias (positive or negative) for the technique.
