University Scenario
Draw a detailed ERD with primary keys, foreign keys, and all provided attributes. If none are given in the scenario, provide at least one additional attribute for each entity.
Scenario:
When a person applies for a classified staff position at a large university in the Seattle area, information about that person, including his or her social security number, name, address, and phone is stored. People applying for classified staff positions do not apply for a specific job, but apply for a job class. For example, a person might apply for a “scientific programmer” job class position. Information stored about each job class includes a unique job code, a description, and a pay range. Each job applicant is assigned to an employment representative who processes the application and helps the job applicant with any questions. Information stored about the employment representatives includes their unique employee numbers, names, and phone numbers. Job applicants are not restricted to applying for a single job class; they may be qualified for several. The university needs to keep track of the date an applicant applied for a specific job class because it deletes applications that are more than a year old. The university has a policy that once it assigns an employment representative to an applicant, that representative will remain assigned to the applicant even if the applicant applies more than once.
