Religion in the past helped people lead a moral life and create a sense of belonging and oneness. Religions dominated the political, social and cultural spheres of people. Religions were very influential in determining the lifestyle, values and belief systems of people which helped religions exercise their power in the name of the unknown god. Today, religions remain as an institution that fulfils the ritualistic and spiritual needs of the people. Today religions do not act as a dominant institution as they are becoming a place where people can find some solace. Religions are becoming more modern and they help people get better counselling these days through scriptures. They also promote inter-religious dialogues between the religions by overcoming their dominant mind-set.
