  • ANSWER-1.One of them who contributed to educational psychology was Alfred Binet who published Mental Fatigue in 1898,in which he attempted to apply experimental method to educational psychology.In his experimental method he differentiated between two types of experiments,one done in labs and on done in classrooms.
  • This is when he began to look for a way to distinguish children with developmental disabilities.The Binet-Simon test was the first intelligence test and was the first to distinguish between "normal children" and those with developmental disabilities.
  • Second contributor was Thorndike who supported the scientific movement in education. He based his teaching practices on empirical evidence and measurement,in educational psychology.
  • He was one of the first to say that individual differences in cognitive tasks were due to how many stimulus response patterns an individual had rather than a general intellectual ability.He also contributed word dictionaries that were scientifically based to determine the words and definitions used.These dictionaries were the first to take into consideration the maturity level of the people.
  • Thorndike also contributed arithmetic books based on learning theory. He made all the problems more realistic and relevant to what was being studied and not just focusing to improve the general intelligence. He also contributed by developing tests that were standardized to measure performance in school related subjects.
  • Jean Piaget also influenced the field of educational psychology because he believed that cognitive devlopment was really important and something that should be paid attention to in education field.His theory of cognitive devlopement had four stages,sensorimotor,preoperational,concerte operational and formal operational.
