Your company has just brought in a new line of products... And they are pieces of junk. The vendor gave the staff a free one so they could try it out and within a week it was broken. Contests, promotions, and pressure from upper management make it clear Corporate is making a big push to sell this product. Your future at this company might be at stake.
What do you do? What would you tell your staff?
What obligation do you have to your company?
What obligation do you have to the customer?
answer-
1- I would try to work according to set objectives of the top management and try to increase the sells of these new line of products. I would tell my staff to make good use of marketing strategy like gifts, contests, free samples to customers with the purchase of this new product so that they would purchase the products with promotion efforts made by us.I would motivate my staff to use their knowledge, skills or talent of sales to sale this product to customers.
2-The obligation to my company is to create profit and maximize that. I have obligation to increase sales and increase the benefits to the company. It is my legal duty to act in the benefit of the company. If upper level management is making big push and giving their efforts for promotion, contests then i also give my best to benefit them. The one thing i would do is to tell top management to make product of high quality which would last longer.
3- The obligation to the customer i have is to provide the products to customers which fulfills their needs or try to change their needs which can benefit them as well as our company.
Because company is the one which is giving me the source of income and handling my expenses so i would try everything to make company profitable and give suggestions to top management whenever needed to improve business.
