n C x = n! / x!(n - x)!

n! = n(n - 1)(n - 2) .... and so on .

n = 8 and x = 5

8 C 5 = 8! / 5!(8 - 5)! = 8! / 5!(3)! = 56

56 unique combinations of 5 player teams can be made from this group .
