Digital marketing is way beyond social media marketing. Social media marketing is a part of digital marketing which is marketing through online services, displays and also offline services like televisions etc., It is much vast than social media marketing and has more scope. Digital marketing can be in video form or audio form and has more than one medium . Hence it is a much wider topic when compared to social media marketing. There are many strategic innovations like 360 degrees videos, virtual experiences, augmented reality, user experiences etc.,

Augmented reality is where marketers provide us with actual experience online on how the product fits our needs, For example we want to buy a makeup foundation, we can upload our picture and try various shades of foundation where we can see how we look with each trail . This provides users an experience of what they are going to buy. 360 degree videos are used to cover entire image of the product like a full video of a house we want to buy so that users can have a clear view of what they buy. There strategic innovations are making marketing much efficient and successful.

The relations between organizations and individuals or individuals and individuals used to be limited to certain area as they were not able to reach people beyond that area and used to be confined to particular culture, But with digital technology people are getting connected all over the world and cultural and regional barriers have vanished creating a diverse marketing environment. Things have become more open and relations are being more diverse .
