According to Henry Mintzberg there are five basic parts of an organisation. they are

  • The strategic apex- The people who do direct supervision in an organisation are strategic apex
  • The operative core- All the workers who do the baseline work in the production area is the operative core.
  • The middle line- It is difficult for a manager to handle the whole organisation. This creates the need for multiple managers so that the responsibilities of the company can be shared
  • The technological structure - This consist of the planners, engineers and the executive staffs of an organisation
  • The supporting staff- The people who provides supporting services such as food services, maintenance service and clerical services are called supporting staff
