BIG Q - BIG Q is defined as strategic quality management in product and services with regards to all the parties involved. BIG Q is considered to be Strategic. Also, in the current version, BIG Q is more evident.
Little q - little q is narrow in scope and describe the attention paid to the product in terms of quality. It focuses on the main customers. Also, Little q is considered to be Tactical.
If quality management focuses only on the BIG Q issue, then little q will have a positive impact.
For instance - if the company have the different process to perform the SWOT analysis for Strategic planning process then the narrow focus of little q will automatically facilitate the organisation achievements in sustaining the success as BIG Q is will lead to enhancement of long term sustainability. As short q focuses only on the primary customers; therefore, when BIG Q focuses on all types of parties, it automatically considers the main customers of the organisations.
