For companies using a broadbanded pay system, how does CEO pay fit into this system and can the high salary be justified?
Ans. For companies using broadbanded pay system , usually the CEO pay doesn't fit into the system. This is because CEO pay is not decided by the HR , it is decided by the Board of Directors and differential in the salary is justifiable most of the times ie high salary of the CEO can be justified because most of the times, CEO is the founder or owner of the Organisation and the level of hardwork and commitment that is needed to reach upto this level requires a fair compensation. Moreover , the amount of mental work that a CEO is required to do goes along with the Salary paid.
