Answer #1

object distance from the lens,

do = 49 - 1.9

= 47.1 cm

image distance from the lens,

di = -(25 - 1.9)

= -23.1 cm

image distance is negative. Because, it is virtual(image is formed in the same side as object)

now use,

1/f = 1/do + 1/di

1/f = 1/47.1 + 1/(-23.1)

f = -45.3 cm (or) -0.453 m

power of the lens, P = 1/f

= 1/(-0.453)

= -2.2 D <<<<<<<<--------------Answer
