The NLRB (National Labor Relation Board) is an agency of the Federal government of United States Of America which enforces US Labor law. It was founded in 1935 on 5th of July by Franklin D Roosevelt. It is headquartered in Washington DC.
It engages the employees/ employers in groups to improve their wages or working conditions. It aims at preventing any unfair trade practices done by private employers or unions.
They have 26 regional offices which investigate and prosecute violations. it is a 5 member board who are appointed by the president for a 5 year term.
The General counsel is appointed by the president for a term period of 4 years.This council is independent from the board. They are responsible for investigation and prosecution of unfair trade practices and supervising NLRB field offices.
