Answer #1

Takt time is the rate at which a product needs to be made to meet the consumer demand while Task time refers to the time it takes each workstation to process an order from beginning to end to make the product.

It is essential for the takt time to be less than or equal to task time in order to meet consumer demands. If the takt time is more than the task time, though, it may result in excess inventory. Or if the takt time is lower than the task time, it will result in an inability to meet the demands of the customers on time which may result in a loss of customers. Therefore, for optimum results, the takt time should be equal to task time.
