The major competitive factors facebook has can be placed as its market position, early adoption and thereby its reach in the market. It was one of the first social media platforms to break out into widespread use by its target audience. It can be said that Facebook is innovative in the way it conducts its businesses and its adherence to the needs of its primary customers. As a factor of market competition, Facebook as the advantage when it comes to attracting the younger generation more than platforms such as Twitter due to its increased emphasis over the connection, availability as well as group interactions. Facebook also has a distinct advantage which comes in the form of its other ventures such as the purchase of Instagram to create another social outlet for its customers. Their ability to recognize the market in order to act over the opportunity quickly is the reason they have been able to sustain their advantage over the course of time and are still going strong.
