Given,

Pressure = 92 atm

Temperature = 45.3 C

Volume increase ( V) = 22.9 L

Work done in J = ?

We know that,

Work Done = - PV

where,

P = Pressure

V = Change in Volume

Put the values,

Work Done = - 92 atm * 22.9 L

Work Done = - 2106.8 atm L --------------X

But, we want our answer in J.

So,

We know that,

Gas constant = 0.08206 L atm/mol K -------------A

Also,

Gas constant = 8.31447 J/mol K -----------------B

Divide B by A,

Gas constant/Gas constant = (8.31447 J/mol K) / (0.08206 L atm/mol K)

1 = 101.322 J/atm.L

1 atm.L = 101.322 J ---------------C

Put, C in X,

Work Done = - 2106.8 * 101.322 J

Work Done = - 213465.1896 J [ANSWER]
