Most large organizations have used balanced scorecard as a management tool, amongst these some have found it useful while some failed to extract its usefulness. “For a decade, large firms have subscribed to the Balanced Scorecard approach, with mixed results. Most failures follow an inconsistent or half-hearted application of the Balanced Scorecard, or unwillingness to consider the Balanced Scorecard a dynamic process of self-improvement. Small and medium enterprises firms can benefit from the Balanced Scorecard approach by avoiding pitfalls of large firms whose BSC (Balanced Scorecard) implementations failed.”

Many organization uses Balanced scorecard but some has failed to get complete benefits out of it.The balanced scorecard (BSC) is a strategic planning and management system that organizations use to:Communicate what they are trying to accomplish, Align the day-to-day work that everyone is doing with strategy, Prioritize projects, products, and services, Measure and monitor progress towards strategic targets.

Many big organization has not understand the benefits of using balance scorecard because they think that it is an inconsistent approach and this makes the application of Scorecard half-hearted. But SME( Small and medium enterprises) can get the benefits if they ignore the thinking like big enterprise and these benefits could be like  it is able to provide visual means of how the goals of the organization are being met and the plan of action necessary to achieve these goals.It Indicates Company Performance. If the Balanced Scorecard is used properly, SME will be able to solve issues about the important aspects of the business such as customer satisfaction, employee’s skills and knowledge and internal business process.
