Your friend has a long video lecture to watch but they are behind on other work and want to view it at a faster rate.  They aren’t sure how long it will end up taking them to watch the video and ask for your help.

  1. Share how you would explain to your friend how to find the new viewing time assuming they have not taken this course?
  2. Would your response differ if they had taken this course, if so, how?
  3. If your friend were given options of speeds both greater than and less than 1, which would be faster and how does that relate to the viewing time?
  4. If your friend had the speed options of 0.75x, 1.5x, or 2.5x, which would you recommend they use and why?

Speed greater than 1 will be faster. Speed greater tan 1 is related to less viewing tme.

(2)

We would recommend they use 2.5x because speed option of 2.5x will give the greatest speed of viewing, thus making the viewing time required the least.
