In this legal drama the story revolves around a case by the civilians who noticed a change in the taste, odor and color of the water. Later on Anne Anderson found that his child is diagnosed with leukemia a lot of children in the neighborhood suffered from the same. The plaintiffs are the people whose children have been affected by leukemia and they believe that the companies Grace and Beatrice are responsible for contaminating their water. The expectation of the plaintiffs is to get these companies clean their water and ,make it devoid of toxic and pay compensation for this act they should be held responsible for the  damage and legal justice is to be provided to the plaintiffs. The lawyer hired for this case Jan Schlichtmann who was a Boston attorney who zips the town in his Porsche. At 1st he rejects to work for them as the case seems to him unprofitable but later on he realizes that the case has a big environmental issue and involves big parties and by taking them down he can earn great success and reputation for his firm. In fighting the 2 giants he lost everything and has a huge debt on him his company too gets dissolved, the court favoured the two giants for settlement and the compensation paid by the companies were not enough to fulfill the damage. At the end Environmental protection agency took this case and make the giant pay millions to cleanup the contaminated water. It took years to clean his debt but it changed him and has provided him with reputation and self satisfaction. The expectation of making them pay for the environmental and life hazards caused by the companies were met. Thus he succeeded in countering heinous corporate greed, gross negligence and capriciousness.
