1-butanol can convert to 1-bromobutane by using PBr3,HBr,POBr3 etc.

By using PBr3 reagent is more convenient to get the product because it undergo SN2 type reaction.The incoming Br and leaving group eliminates simultaneously by the backside attack

The 3 possible reactions are shown as in figure below
