Answer #1
  • A child suffering from ASD shows deficits in theory of mind.Theory of mind is a social-cognitive skill which means, when we try to make sense of our own mental states as well as of what others are feeling and thinking. To understand how others think and feel, one needs to have social skills to communicate, since we as humans are social creatures. And because children suffering from autism lack theory of mind they also lack language and communication skills.
  • Theory of mind involves social interactions, emphasizing with others, sharing experiences with others to understand whats going on in their minds, therefore deficits in this concept among ASD children, shows lack of such skills in them.Children with autism lack language skills, their speech development gets delayed, they are unable to maintain eye contact, play games with others, unable to show empathy and show under-developed social skills.
