For the video response portion of this assignment, your job will be to state what would happen to the oxygen bond to Hemoglobin if the pH of the tissue was the same as that of the lungs using the logic of the person’s presentation you watched. Discuss whether or not you agree with this. The video said this: Oxygen must be transported in the blood from the lungs, because the partial pressure of oxygen (pO2) is relatively high (approximately 100...

The partial pressure of oxygen in the lung alveoli is a bit lower than in ambient air, being about 100 mm of mercury, or 0.13 Atm (it is lower than the partial pressure in air mainly because oxygen is continually taken up by the alveolar capillaries and carbon dioxide is continually released into the alveoli). In cell-free blood plasma (or a saline solution formulated to match key characteristics of blood plasma), which lacks red blood cells and therefore lacks hemoglobin,...

General Chemistry II Part II. Fuel efficiency (6 pts) Fuel efficiency is the efficiency of the conversion of chemical energy contained in a fuel into work. Let's see which one of these fuels (hydrogen gas or liquid propane) will allow us to do more electrical work. Use the thermodynamic data provided to answer the following questions: 1. First determine the amount of heat released in direct combustion of (a) 1 mole of hydrogen gas; (b) 1 mole of liquid propane...
