In this post, i would discuss about a effective marketing campaign which i think was great marketing example done by famous fast food restaurant company called Mcdonalds. as we all know that Mcdonalds sells fast food like Burgers, beverages, fries etc which some people think tasty while some think of it has unhealthy so it has become myth in people that Mcdonalds is source of unhealthy food and its food is made under unhygienic conditions.
so, to remove this myth and improve its brad image, they launch an original marketing campaign called “Our Food. Your Questions.” It gave Canadians a chance to ask the company anything about its food . this campaign launched in May 2012 with a YouTube video directing visitors to a dedicated website where they could submit questions about the brand by logging in through their Twitter or Facebook account. this marketing example was effective and successful because it has solved thousands of questions of customers in real time.
the effectiveness of this campaign can be seen in “Behind the scenes at a McDonald’s photo shoot” currently has 10.3 million views, 27,000 YouTube likes, 91,000 Facebook shares, and 21,000 tweets:
under this campaign company targeted all age people who has questions about their food. they target customers who are healthy eaters and live fit lifestyle so they remove their misconception about its food and how they make it. Mcdonalds target the people in canada for this campaign as geography based segment.
i think all the points and numbers shows how this marketing campaign is great example as company is able to get huge customer base and open many franchise in many countries after 2012.
