What is a lean organization? Why is inspection generally less necessary in a lean organization than a non-lean organization? Explain.
A lean organization is an organization which tries to eliminate the wastes by following all the possible methods and optimization. A lean organization tries to control 7 types of wastes such as waiting time, defects, over-production, inventory, transportation, over-production and motion. These types of wastes incur the indirect cost to the organization. The lean organization focuses on streamlining the process by eliminating the non-value added activities to provide the best value to the customers. Lean organizations focus on perfection instead of verification. Lean organizations try to produce the product with zero defects. The process follows identifying the root cause of the process and mistakes are controlled permanently. In a lean organization, only the value-added activities are included and the other activities which don't add any value are excluded from the process. This controls cost and saves time and improves quality. The output is increased in the lean organization without showing an increase in the input.
In a lean organization, inspection is less necessary required. Inspection is usually required to confirm the quality of the product. The lean organization itself follows the process to create the products with zero defect rate. In a lean organization, inspection is considered to be an additional activity which doesn't add any value to the process. Quality inspection consumes time and resources. In other organizations, inspections are needed because no standard process is followed to provide good quality products. In a lean organization, standard operating procedures and proper policies are used to reduce the waste and to improve the quality. The process used in a lean organization eliminates the defects.

Read the following articles: Lean and Green: The Move to Environmentally Friendly Manufacturing and Why You Need to Align Your Business With the Biosphere’s Rules. Then, answer the following questions: Does the adoption of manufacturing process innovations create incentives for the adoption of environmentally conscious manufacturing strategies? If yes, explain why, and if no, explain why not. What is the impact of environmentally friendly manufacturing on the sustainability of the organization? Is environmentally friendly manufacturing necessary or just a fad?
What type of lean practice is helpful to reduce inventory within the organization? Explain with example.
Why is it generally thought that microbes are less likely to develop resistance to biocides? Group of answer choices these compounds are only rarely used and do not accumulate in the environment biocides are generally non-toxic and so there is no benefit to resistance the biocide affects multiple cellular structures/functions in a susceptible cell microbes can safely degrade most biocides
In a titration, why does it generally require less titrant to reach the first equivalence point from the beginning, compared to reaching the second equivalence point from the first equivalence point? Explain the underlying mechanism why.
A certain vehicle emission inspection station advertises that the wait time for customers is less than 9 minutes. A local resident wants to test this claim and collects a random sample of 64 wat times for customers at the testing station. She finds that the sample mean is 7.52 minutes, with a standard deviation of 3.4 minutes. Does the sample evidence support the inspection station's claim? Use the α=0.01 level of significance to lest the advertised claim that the wait...
Acertain vehide emission inspection station advertises that the wall time for customers is less than 9 minutes. A local resident wants to test this claim and collects a random sample of 49 wait times for customers at the testing Station He finds that the sample mean is 8.42 minutes, with a standard deviation of 3.8 minutes. Does the sample evidence support the inspection station's claim? Use the a 0.05 level of significance to test the advertised claim that the wall...
