Business intelligence in healthcare I researched is predictive modelling and data visualization tool which have helped hospitals to gain insights regarding patient care and satisfaction, labor distribution, clinical operations, daily practices of physician and nurses, and administration and management. According to report of Gartner healthcare setup has more complex data of any industry and by use of predictive modelling and data visualization tools these data can be structured efficiently and used productively.
Use of business intelligence in various hospital have shown improving patient care, allocating expenses in better way, support and improve in decision making process. Following KPIs of healthcare can be analyzed and utilized for fast, intelligent decision-making capabilities through use of business intelligence tools
We have seen following examples of success story where these hospitals have successfully improved its operation by use of predictive modelling. UnityPoint Health in Iowa: managed to reduce their risk-adjusted readmission rate by 40% over the course of three years, Washington State Health Care Authority: reduced unnecessary ER visits by implementing a Business Intelligence.
