It can be mentioned that in the long run pure monopolies, might indeed get to an economic profits and this is because of the fact that they would still get to have the ownership of the resource and they would experience the power of pricing the product above the marginal cost which would then become the optimal price as a result of which the profit levels increase and the further expand their business in such a way that it would cater the demand all in all and this can make them on economic profits because the average total cost will be still less than the price
