- Talking about wanting to die or to kill oneself;
- Looking for a way to kill oneself;

- Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs;
- Acting anxious, agitated, or reckless;
- Sleeping too little or too much;
- Withdrawing or feeling isolated;
- Showing rage or talking about seeking revenge; and
- Displaying extreme mood swings.
Following are the preventative measures should we undertake when someone is suicidal :-
1. Ask: Asking the inquiry "Are you contemplating suicide?" conveys that you're available to talking about suicide in a non-judgmental and steady way.
2. Keep them safe: After the "Ask" step, and you've decided suicide is undoubtedly being discussed, it's essential to discover a couple of things to set up prompt security.
3. Be there: This could mean being physically present for somebody, talking with them on the telephone when you can, or whatever other way that shows support for the individual in danger.
4. Help them connect: Helping somebody with considerations of suicide associate with continuous backings can assist them with setting up a security net for those minutes they end up in an emergency
5. Follow up: After your underlying contact with an individual encountering contemplations of suicide, and after you've associated them with the quick emotionally supportive networks they need, try to catch up with them to perceive how they're doing.
