Q1 Explain the role of the manger in innovation and change management.

The following is the role of the manager in innovation and change management:

1) Manager plays an important role in introducing change to the employees. The manager should explain to the employees, the reasons for incurring the change and the following impact.

2) Manager has to communicate with the employees, advocate , and coach them. He should further make the employees confident with regard to the positive change and how this change will bring out the best out of the employees.

3) Ensuring that the changes brought about are reinforced, as well as celebrated .

4) Providing the necessary support ,the time and the resources that are required for the change.

Q2 What are contemporary models of leadership? Explain any two in details.

The contemporary models of leadership are, servant leadership and authentic leadership.

1) Servant leadership

Under this, the leader has to serve others needs. In this, the leader ensures that the employees achieve their goals by understanding the employees needs.

The leader empowers the employees, thereby developing the career of the employees.

Their focus is to make the employees successful in their life. For this reason, the leaders under this approach sacrifice their self and their own well being.

2) Authentic leadership

This leadership style puts emphasis on being yourself . Under this leadership style, the leaders do not depend on others. They learn through their own past experience without depending on others.

The main characteristic of the authentic leadership style is self awareness.

Under this approach, the leaders are self aware and introspective. They understand their values and their priorities and never imitate others.
