Explain (in detail) why talent management professionals need to understand the business strategy.
Talent management professionals need to be in the know of the strategy the company is employing as well as the general strategic direction the companies have taken to provide them with candidates best suited to match their criteria as well as having skills more applicable to the course that is needed to be achieved. Although, talent management professionals do not need an absolute sense of the path which needs to be taken, since strategies are never set in stone, but the fact that an approach is based on the objective and can create the necessary outlook for its implementation and how it will benefit the mission in the larger scheme of things is still relevant to them. The process of recruitment should take into account not only the talent but the strategic fit of the individual as well, since most of the individuals would be working with teams, having a strong sense of inclination for the strategy can provide better synergy for them, as well as the fact that it prevents individuals that are not a good fit for the organization from being selected as it wastes not only their time but the resources of the company as well. Therefore, to function optimally, a talent managing professional should have the unresting of the strategic outlook of the company for them to be able to perform their duties effectively.
