Let us consider 3d series element,all are divalent metals,as we increase the d electron,nuclear charge also increase so the size of metals decrease till de configuration,but after d5,pairing of electron in orbitals is taking place,so that the repulsion between electron generate,it causes to the small increase in radius of metals till 3d10 configuration.
