The Ricoh Company, Ltd. is a multinational Japanese company for graphics and electronics. It was established on February 6, 1936 by the Riken zaibatsu as the headquarters of Riken Sensitized Paper Ricoh were located in Chūō, Tokyo, Ricoh Building. Ricoh produces electronic products, mainly cameras and office equipment such as printers, photocopiers, fax machines, and provides document management software as a service (SaaS) applications such as DocumentMall, RicohDocs, GlobalScan, Print&Share, as well as Projectors.
The business was founded in 1936. Ricoh was first in Minato, Tokyo, before heading to Chūō. Ricoh's headquarters relocated to the Ricoh Building in 2006, a 25-story building in Chūō's Ginza area; it occupies the same space as its sales offices there. In the 1960s and 1970s, Ricoh produced wrist watches for both the Japanese domestic and international markets, entering into a brief collaboration with Hamilton Watch Company to create the Ricoh Hamilton Electric watch.
Through advertising interaction goods, Ricoh started to help people share information: sensitized paper and cameras. Since then, Ricoh has successively developed copiers and facsimile machines to improve the productivity of its customers on the image processing technologies it has acquired.
1955- RICOPY101- This is the first desktop diazo copier in Japan that incorporates the cycle of light exposure and creation. Ricoh entered the field of office equipment with this service.
1973-RIFAX 600S-This is the first high-speed fax machine for office use in the world. Able to transmit one A4-sized paper per minute, which at that time took six minutes by conventional means. It helped make facsimile machines popular.
