Answer 2:- The ways staff can be motivated to be more compliant with hand hygiene is to put posters up reminding staff to sanitize their hands. Show graphics on what MRSA can do to patients and staff. Have weekly meetings addressing any concerns about hand hygiene. Add hand hygiene to staff performance evaluations to get managers more involved. Incorporate a reward system, such as a department with the highest compliance gets an award or time off. Ask staff what can be done to better the compliance issue to make them feel more involved. This will motivate staff because recognition/rewards are important to employees.
