Addressing is a procedure used to uniquely identify and locate the hosts connected over the web.But they might not be unique for some local, private addresses.

Sometimes, hosts may possess multiple identifying addresses depending on the NIC i.e.,Network interface card.

There are two types of addressing that can be used.

IPv4 and IPv6.

Ipv4 is 32 bit address.It is most widely used addressing system.It is used to assign address to the devices connected over the network. It is having 2^32 number of addresses which cover about 4 Billion devices . This addressing is servicing the most in present.

IPv6 was introduced to cover up more number of devices that can simultaneously be covering a lot of addresses.

With 128-bit address space, it provides 340 decillion unique address space.

Features of IPv4:-It is a connection-less protocol.Allow creating a simple virtual communication layer over diversified devices.It requires less memory, and ease of remembering addresses.Already supported protocol by millions of devices.It offers video libraries and conferences
