(a) Is the variable measured categorical or quantitative?

(b) In this situation, what is the population? Be specific.

(c) Find the value of the sample mean and sample median. No need to show your work for this part.

(d) Briefly discuss why the mean and median you found in Part (c) are quite different. Your answer must be more than just stating that they are computed using different formulas.

The variable measured is quantitative.

(b)

The population is individuals aged 40 to 60 living in LA

(c)

Sample mean = 138.3

Sample Median = 132.5

(d)

The mean and median are quite different because of the outlier =195. The median is not affected by extreme values, whereas mean is affected by extreme values.
